About Our Farm Stand

The Farm Stand was established in 1992 as an outdoor seasonal farm stand to sell fresh Earthbound Farm organic produce, when our founders outgrew their original home-based operations. A few years later, some old Mission Ranch hotel buildings slated for demolition were moved onto the Farm Stand property and repurposed as a permanent structure for the market. In 2003, we expanded the Farm Stand and opened an organic café, and we stayed open year-round for the first time.
Today, the Farm Stand is dynamic and abundant with ways to enjoy its offerings. You can order something delicious from organic café, which features hot meals, sandwiches, coffee, ice cream, and an amazingly fresh, abundant and ever-changing organic salad bar. Forgot something? Stock up on fresh organic produce and groceries.
But the Farm Stand is a destination that provides a sensorial and educational experience for all visitors. Take a tour of our organic grounds with our resident expert organic gardener, or pick your own fresh herbs from the Herb Garden and berries from the berry patch. Let the little ones discover new plants and foods in the fun Kids’ Alphabet Garden. Or you might just want to wander through the lush organic gardens on your own.
The market and surrounding property (including our gardens) are open to enjoy year-round. To show our appreciation for the community we serve, and those passing through town who want some local flavor, we host a variety of seasonal, kid-friendly and educational events and garden tours.
Regardless of the reason for your visit, it’s hard not to be enchanted by the warm, welcoming and knowledgeable staff and end up staying to enjoy the food while taking in the solace and sanctuary of the grounds and the backdrop of the verdant Carmel Valley.
