Larry fait partie de la famille Earthbound Farm depuis pr\u00e8s de 20&nbsp;ans, mais ses racines agricoles remontent \u00e0 encore plus loin, car il a grandi sur le ranch Cauley, dans la vall\u00e9e du Salinas, en Californie. Aujourd\u2019hui, il g\u00e8re cette m\u00eame ferme pour le compte d\u2019Earthbound Farm.<\/p>\n<p>Originaire de la r\u00e9gion sud du comt\u00e9 de Monterey, Larry raconte&nbsp;: \u00ab\u2009Dans ma jeunesse, mon p\u00e8re \u00e9tait agent de liaison pour les producteurs, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire une personne qui orchestre les contrats agricoles. J\u2019avais l\u2019habitude de l\u2019accompagner dans sa camionnette et de l\u2019observer faire son travail. L\u2019agriculture, \u00e7a me conna\u00eet!\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 14&nbsp;ans, Larry a lui-m\u00eame commenc\u00e9 dans le m\u00e9tier, travaillant pour les agriculteurs locaux pendant l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9. \u00ab\u2009Je d\u00e9pla\u00e7ais les tuyaux d\u2019arrosage et je mettais le foin en balles. Ils m\u2019ont vraiment mis \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Quand le moment est venu d\u2019aller \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9, Larry s\u2019est rendu compte que l\u2019agriculture \u00e9tait sa v\u00e9ritable vocation. Depuis, il s\u2019efforce de cultiver les meilleurs produits possibles et de bien s\u2019occuper de la terre.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009C\u2019\u00e9tait en 1995&nbsp;et pratiquement personne ne connaissait la culture bio\u2009\u00bb, raconte Larry, en parlant de son choix. Larry travaillait alors sur un lopin de terre qui \u00e9tait en friche depuis 15&nbsp;ans dans la vall\u00e9e du Salinas. Il a encourag\u00e9 son patron \u00e0 essayer ce \u00ab\u2009nouveau mode de culture exp\u00e9rimental\u2009\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009On a donc tent\u00e9 l\u2019exp\u00e9rience, et j\u2019ai tout de suite ador\u00e9. C\u2019est vraiment difficile d\u2019avoir un beau champ biologique. Il faut des ann\u00e9es d\u2019apprentissage. On s\u2019est d\u00e9men\u00e9s, mais on a fini par y arriver.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 partir de ce moment-l\u00e0, Larry est devenu accro.
