We abide by all local and national laws regarding legal age of employment, or younger than 15 where no minimum employment age exists. Our commitment to high quality fresh foods begins with our raw product suppliers. Our Food Safety and Compliance (FSC) team ensures traceability of our ingredients to the grower/ranch/lot name/location/and lot codes. Prior to an onsite assessment by our FSC team, the supplier must submit a signed supplier acknowledgment to ensure compliance with all state/Federal laws related to human welfare and environmental management, state/federal food safety laws, and Earthbound Farm required food safety management and disclosures.
An onsite supplier assessment is conducted by our FSC team on an annual basis. These assessments allow visibility into supplier compliance with all state/Federal laws related to human welfare and environmental management, state/federal food safety laws, and their adherence to Earthbound Farm required food safety management and disclosures. The FSC employees are trained on how to evaluate at risk suppliers through a documentation review of legal and food safety compliance. In the event that a supplier does not meet Earthbound Farm Supplier Acknowledgement requirements, a correction action plan is put in place depending on the severity of the violation. Earthbound Farm has a Zero Tolerance policy for human trafficking and slavery, and high-risk food safety violations.
